Edina
Edina is a upscale suburb of Minneapolis located inside the ring to the southwest of the metropolitan center on the junction of Highways 62 and 100. The city area is almost entirely developed and consists mostly of residential communities, recreational facilities and shopping malls. (Edina was the location for the first climate-controlled enclosed mall in the USA.)
It was originally settled by immigrants from Ireland and the UK as part of Richland village. The creation of Edina as a new village was accompanied by arguments amongst residents, which now form part of local historical folklore.
